Connecting research with practice for cancer treatment
We built a sharing tool and community for radiation oncology practitioners and researchers to publish and share knowledge. The service was launched as OncoPeer in 2015.

Objective
Varian approached Method to create a digital platform on which researchers and physicians could collaborate and share knowledge.
Stakeholder interview synthesis
Approach
We started with immersion and research to inform the experience principles and interaction model. Next, we used an MVP approach to identify necessary use cases for knowledge acquisition. For these use cases, we mapped and sketched features for the target audiences. Finally, we created and iterated designs and prepared them for development.
Solution
A peer-to-peer sharing community that allowed users to acquire knowledge and promote a cycle of discovery, application, endorsement and sharing. Users could post, share or discuss treatment protocols, data, research, and best practices. Each piece of knowledge could also be tagged and followed so users could build their own private knowledge base.
