Designing the pharmacy experience everyone deserves
Built and launched a service connecting customers to a central pharmacy that delivers medication at the tap of a button. This forward-thinking "pharmacy in your pocket" empowers users by connecting them effortlessly with care whenever and wherever they need it.
UX DESIGN DIRECTOR, 2015-2016
The Capsule iOS apps home screen showing a user's prescriptions allows them to purchase medication or chat with a pharmacist
objective
To build a service that reimagines how a retail pharmacy serves consumers, prescribers and pharmacy operations using technology for analytics and delivery.
Signage in New York City. We partnered with Franklyn to develop the brand identity and visual design language.
approach
We led with a user centered design process to identify the core features and actors within the ideal pharmacy experience. I created rapid prototypes pushing the service model to extend beyond a delivery app into an end-to-end telehealth product. I was a decision maker in all design activities including products, marketing, packaging, brand strategy and advertising.
outcome
We launched the iOS app, web app, and text message service in early 2016. Users could seamlessly transfer prescriptions and get same-day delivery in NYC. Now Capsule has scaled to multiple cities but the app experience for consumers remains largely the same. Through the app or text, they have access to a pharmacist to answer all their prescription needs. In crafting an approachable brand focusing on ease-of-use, tone of voice, trust and reliable delivery experience, it continues to scale and be relevant today.
